• Account Information: Name, college email address, college name, college ID number, and phone number.
• Profile Information: Google profile photo (when signing in via Google OAuth).
• Listing Content: Photos, descriptions, prices, and categories of items you list.
• Feedback & Communications: Messages you send through our feedback form or via email.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Usage Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as page views, browser type, and device information. This data does not personally identify you.
• Cookies & Local Storage: We store your authentication token in your browser's local storage to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies.

2.3 Payment Information

We use Razorpay as our payment processor. CampusKart does not store, process, or have access to your credit/debit card numbers or bank account details. All payment information is handled directly by Razorpay in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your CampusKart account.
• Enable peer-to-peer transactions between students on the marketplace.
• Verify your college affiliation and identity for platform trust and safety.
• Send OTP verification codes and welcome emails via SendGrid.
• Process payments and manage orders through Razorpay.
• Improve the Platform's features, performance, and user experience.
• Respond to your feedback, inquiries, and support requests.
• Enforce our Terms of Service and protect against fraudulent or harmful activity.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:

• With Other Users: Your name and listing details are visible to other users of the Platform to facilitate transactions.
• Service Providers: We share data with trusted third parties who help us operate the Platform, including:
  • MongoDB Atlas — database hosting
  • Image storage provider — image hosting and delivery
  • SendGrid — transactional email delivery
  • Razorpay — payment processing
  • Vercel — frontend hosting and analytics
  • Render — backend hosting
  • Google OAuth — authentication
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on MongoDB Atlas with encryption at rest. Uploaded images are stored with a third-party image storage provider. We use HTTPS, CORS policies, Helmet.js, and JWT-based authentication to protect your data in transit and at rest.

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.

OTP verification codes are automatically deleted after verification or upon expiry (10 minutes).

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
• Withdraw Consent for data processing, though this may limit your ability to use the Platform.

CampusKart is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
